Step 1; the first step was to crop the image to get rid of the black border that surrounded it. This was done easily by using the crop tool, and dragging a box around the image to cut off the unwanted parts.

Step 2; next we zoomed in on the part of the picture that was scratched at the bottom, and removed the scratch by using the clone tool, to select bits of the image and covering the imperfections.

Step 3; we used the magic wand tool, to select the marble that the flowers are on. we set the Tolerance to 50 to ensure no parts of  the selected area were missed. we then changed the levels of hue, saturation and lightness to; +20, -30 and + 15. this lifted the colour of the marble, and drew your eyes to the flowers, which are the main focus of the picture.

Step 4; i then used the Spot healing tool, to get rid of a blemish on the surface of the pear. We set the diameter of the healing brush to 30, and the hardness to 0%. this ensures a soft edge when removing the blemish, and helps it to blend in and look natural.

Step 5;  We then used the stamp tool again, to clone the leaf at the bottom. We targeted the bottom right hand side of the leaf, to make sure no overlapping occurred, and then duplicated it next to the other leaf.

i learnt quite a few new things from this tutorial. I learnt how to clone objects, and heal imperfections on objects. Also, i learnt how to alter the hue and saturation etc, of an image.
